Yale Sustainable Food Program

Harvest Pre-Orientation Program

Every year, first-year students set foot on the Yale Farm—most for the first time—to begin their days as undergraduates. But before they dive into orientation, they ship off to small and sustainable farms across Connecticut as part of the Harvest pre-orientation program. Led by upperclassmen, these trips encourage first-years to learn more about agriculture and one another.

No experience farming is necessary —all are welcome.  Students come to the program with a wide range of experiences and backgrounds, but all share an adventurous spirit and eagerness to build lasting friendships.

Sign-ups for the Class of 2023 are due by July 1, 2019.
